50 Farringdon Road

We were contracted to design and build two new Form 3 MCC control panels at 50 Farringdon Road, London. These panels were equipped with new Trend IQ4E controllers, including strategy design and installation, to control a new Air Handling Unit (AHU) with a three-stage DX system for heating and cooling the floors.

I was tasked with creating the strategy design to enable the BMS to control each stage of the system. This included switching between heating and cooling modes and monitoring fault signals, all of which were mimicked on the AHU control panel.

The second control panel was designed to manage the car park extract fans and monitor the Fireman’s switch, with the status and functionality displayed on the fascia of the control panel.

Additionally, the project involved integrating over 60 VRV FCU units across three floors via BACnet, using an IQ4NC. To complete the installation, I designed and engineered a Trend IQVision head end tailored to the current plant setup.
